Dowie and CPFC settle out of court

Crystal Palace have agreed to settle out of court with former manager Iain Dowie.

Judge Mr Justice Tugendhat last June found Dowie guilty of fraudulent misrepresentation when he negotiated his way out of his Palace contract to join Charlton for free.

Tugendhat ordered Dowie to pay Jordan's £363,000 lawyers' bill plus his own and any other costs which could have amounted to around £1million.

Dowie appealed the verdict and both sides reached an agreement before an appeal hearing went ahead.

A statement on Palace's website states: "Prior to appeal being heard a mutually satisfactory settlement of all matters has now been reached on terms acceptable to Crystal Palace Football Club."
