Jeff Hughes admits he can't wait to get in the swing of things at Crystal Palace.
The summer signing from Lincoln City has settled in by playing golf with Ben Watson, Shefki Kuqi and Mark Hudson.
And the left-sided midfielder hopes to have better fortunes on the pitch than he has done out on the fairway.
"I’m only just starting out at golf, so I’m terrible," he said. "I haven’t got an official handicap yet, but I probably play off about 23. I enjoy the craic more than anything.
"Huds, Shefki and Ginge [Ben Watson] are all good golfers. But once I get better, I’m sure I’ll be taking their money off them.
"But I’m confident in my football abilities, and I think I can make the step up from League Two. Now I just have to prove it."
