Jamie Scowcroft
This week Crystal Palace striker Jamie Scowcroft came under The League Paper's spotlight in Xtra Time.
ON THE SPOT
Position: Centre-forward.
Date of birth: 15-11-75.
Place of birth: Bury St Edmunds.
Marital status: I'm married to Sarah.
Former clubs: Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Coventry City.
THE LAST...
Car you bought?
A BMW 730. It's big and very comfortable to drive.
CD bought?
The last one I bought was a trance CD, Hed Kandi. I listen to every kind of music and have very wide-ranging taste.
Goal you scored?
Luton away a couple of weeks ago. Was it a good goal? Every goal is a good goal.
Time you were sent off?
In 2004 playing for Leicester against Tottenham in the Premiership. I think my foot was high and I got a straight red. Obviously it was a bad decision...
Injury?
I had a bad back towards the end of last season.
Trophy won?
I haven't won a trophy yet, but the last medal I won was in 2003 at Leicester. We were runners-up in the Championship, so that was a very proud moment.
THE JURY'S OUT:
Tea or Coffee?
Hot Chocolate.
Beans on toast or pasta?
Pasta. I like it eating it plain with a bit ofbutter, no sauce.
Caribbean with the missus or Magalluf with the lads?
I'll definitely say Caribbean with the missus. I've never been there before but I have been to Magalluf.
EastEnders or Corrie?
Neither.
Big Brother or Love Island?
I'll have to say neither again. I'm not really into reality TV. I probably watch the news more than anything.
TIME ADDED ON:
Who did you support as a boy?
I supported Manchester United. My grandparents were from Manchester, so I used to go and watch them quite a bit as a kid. My favourite player was Brian McClair. I used to really enjoy watching him.
Who's the best player you've played with?
I can't really name one but I've been fortunate to work with lots of good players.
Who's the loudest manager you've played under?
Micky Adams. He can be tough but he also has a good sense of humour. The only time he's not loud is when he's in a bad mood.
Which newspapers do you read?
The Times. It gives a balanced view of things and doesn't lean towards anyone or anything.
Which TV football pundit makes you cringe? Jeff Shreeves. He tries to be funny and he isn't. I'm only joking; he's a good mate of mine. I don't findany pundits cringeworthy.
And who do you really listen to?
I quite like Alan Hansen. He gives an honest view and he knows what he's talking about.
Superstitions?
I'm not superstitious at all.
Hobbies?
I play a little golf but I wouldn't call myself a golfer. I enjoy seeing my family, seeing my friends and just chilling out.
Which five people would you have round for a dinner party?
Maradona, as I've always wanted to meet him, and the Queen, for the same reason. Sir Alex Ferguson, because he's someone I really admire. The Glazer Brothers, to ask why they decided to buy Man Utd. And Charlotte Church, as I think she'd be good company and is better than people give her credit for.
AND FINALLY:
Who's the worst dressed player at the club?
There are quite a few contenders, but I would have to say Mark Kennedy. He has the same Prada top in 20 different colours, with a zip at the back and in short and long-sleeved. It's the only top he ever wears.
