Peter Taylor admitted he was glad Shefki Kuqi proved him wrong after the striker's late goal sunk Norwich.
Taylor dropped Kuqi, a £2.5m deadline day signing from Blackburn, after a disappointing display against Southampton in midweek.
But the Finnish striker climbed off the bench to make his point to Taylor by grabbing a last minute winner at Carrow Road.
Taylor said: "He was not pleased when he was told he was on the bench but he has shown a brilliant attitude since I broke the news to him.
"I'm not going to rely on just two of strikers week in week out, there will be times when I will be looking to change it around a bit.
"Shefki understands that even though he was disappointed to be left out.
"He came on, did ever so well and it was a brilliant header that won the game for us from another top-quality corner from Mark Kennedy.
"What this performance showed more than anything is that there is no shortage of spirit in the camp.
"We were very poor on Tuesday night and the lads knew exactly what was expected of them."
