Peter Taylor is lining up a £750,000 swoop for Hull City centre-half Leon Cort.
Taylor has moved swiftly after Fitz Hall departed Selhurst Park to make a bid for the Southwark-born defender.
Cort began his career with Dulwich Hamlet before moving to Millwall in 2001.
He was signed by Hull on a free transfer from Southend two years ago. Since then he has made 91 appearances for Hull and scored 10 goals.
Cort, 26, is the younger brother of Wolves striker Carl.
