In this week's issue of The League Paper, Eagles star striker Andrew Johnson appears in the popular column Xtra Time.
ON THE SPOT
Position: Striker.
Date of birth: 10-02-81.
Place of birth: Bedford.
Marital status: Single.
Former clubs: Birmingham City.
THE LAST...
Car you bought?
It was a Range Rover Sport. I bought it because it has a lot of space and is a very safe vehicle, which was an important factor where my little boy, Finlay, is concerned.
CD bought?
It was a rap album by 50 Cent.
Goal you scored?
That was at Preston in the FA Cup. I got the ball with my back to goal and rolled centre-back Claude Davis before knocking it into the bottom corner.
Time you were sent off?
Never I donšt do sendings-off!
Injury?
It was a couple of weeks ago in our match at Sheffield Wednesday. I took the ball on my chest and one of their defenders has come in and studded me right on the thigh and taken a massive chunk out of it.
Trophy won?
The play-off final, Crystal Palace against West Ham, a couple of years ago.
THE JURY'S OUT:
Tea or Coffee?
Coffee.
Beans on toast or pasta?
Pasta.
Caribbean with the missus or Magalluf with the lads?
Has to be Caribbean with the missus.
EastEnders or Corrie?
EastEnders.
Little Britain or Mike Bassett?
I am not really a lover of either, but, if pushed, I would probably have to go for Little Britain.
TIME ADDED ON:
Who did you support as a boy?
Arsenal. My favourite player was goalscoring legend Ian Wright.
Who's the best player youšve played with?
Wow, there's been a few. It's got to be an England player, so I think I would go for Joe Cole he,s got everything.
Whošs the loudest manager youšve played under?
It has got to be my present manager, Iain Dowie.
Which newspapers do you read?
The Sun.
Which TV football pundit makes you cringe?
Itšs difficult to say therešs no one that really bothers me that much.
And who do you really listen to?
Of all the ones there are, I think Alan Hansen is the one I would listen to most because he talks the most sense. When he talks he tells the truth players respect that.
Superstitions?
Therešs a couple of bits and bobs. If we do well in a game, then Išll wear the same suit to the next match. Another one is that if I donšt score for a couple of games, then Išll change my boots to see if it changes my luck in front of goal. Itšs just little things like that.
Hobbies?
Spending time with my little boy and my family.
Which five people would you have round for a dinner party?
To keep them happy, I would invite all the strikers at the club.
AND FINALLY:
Whošs the worst dressed player at the club?
Aki Riihilahti, without a doubt. He just dresses awfully. Therešs no colour coordination and, in fact, no coordination of any sort!
