Sam Togwell has gone on loan at League One outfit Port Vale.
The 21-year-old has only made three first team appearances for Palace this season - all in the Carling Cup.
The move to Vale will give the defender/midfielder some vital first-team experience. He had previous loan spells at Oxford Utd and Northampton.
"Sam was on loan at Northampton last season and did very well for them and that is where I first saw him play," said Vale boss Martin Foyle.
"He can play at right-back, centre-half or midfield and his versatility is much needed in our squad. He has just signed an improved deal with Crystal Palace and he is a player very much for the future."
Togwell will return to Selhurst Park on January 2, 2006.
