Tommy Black
Tommy Black fired a hat-trick to give the reserves the perfect start to the new season with a 4-0 win over Coventry.
The former Arsenal star scored his first of the night in the 16th minute, heading in Tyrone Berry's cross from close range.
Four minutes later, he got another thanks to a Coventry defensive mix-up. City keeper Richard Brush couldn't control Andy Impey's backpass and Lewis Grabban nipped in to set up Black to score.
Black's hat-trick was complete with another headed finish, this time from Tony Popovic's long ball into the area.
And the reserves wrapped up a brilliant night at Selhurst Park with a fourth goal from Berry, when put through by Black.
Palace: Speroni, Butterfield, Fray, Popovic (Wilson 62), Granville (Simpson 77), Berry, Danze (Welch 55), Togwell, R Hall, Black, Grabban.
Subs not used: Wilkinson, Spence.
