Kit Symons felt Palace deserved more from the game as they went down to a 1-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.
Frank Queudrue's 35th minute headed goal was the difference between the two sides and he gave Boro their first away win in the Premiership since November.
"The result was very disappointing but I think that we controlled the game," said Symons. "We had the better of the chances but the quality of the final ball just wasn't there like in previous weeks.
"Before the game we felt confident of getting something and looking at the chances we created I feel that we should have got something out of it.
"It's all water under the bridge now and we have to concentrate on the points we can get not the ones we didn't get. There are still 21 points to play for and we need to get as many of them as possible.
"We were extremely disappointed with their goal because set-pieces was something we focussed on. We did our homework on them and we'd seen them score from that near post position and it was something we'd pinpointed earlier this week.
"Normally we're pretty good defending set-plays but if you have a momentary lapse at this level you get punished."
