Shaun Derry has signed for Nottingham Forest on loan for a month.
Derry, 27, has struggled to break into the Palace first-team and has been forced to play reserve team and Carling Cup football.
Manager Iain Dowie is keen to offload some members of his squad - one of the biggest in the Premiership - and this move could be made permanent if the midfielder impresses.
The Nottingham born former Portsmouth captain has made just six starts and four sub appearances. He was close to signing for Leeds United on loan in November but the deal collapsed over wages.
