Andy Johnson is set to return to the Eagles attack tomorrow after recovering from an ankle injury.
Johnson limped off in the 1-1 draw at home to Coventry last month with ankle ligament damage but has recovered ahead of schedule.
Caretaker-boss Kit Symons said: "Andy chases everything and can make a bad pass into a good one. That attitude rubs off on other players."
Tony Popovic returns to the defence after serving his one-match ban. Darren Powell (thigh) and Jamie Smith (calf) are still out injured.
Forest full-back Matthieu Louis-Jean is a doubt after failing to overcome a groin strain. Young defender Michael Dawson could return after shaking off a hamstring strain.
Former Palace misfit striker Gareth Taylor won't be playing as he is suspended.
