Julian Gray is currently on trial with German Bundesliga side Hannover 96.
Gray, who has already had trials with Leeds United and Charlton Athletic since his Palace contract ran out, is desperate to find another club who will employ him.
However new Fifa regulations allow players to move abroad for free, and if Gray is successful in his latest trial, Palace could miss out on vital money.
Hannover are short of players on the left side and coach Ralf Rangnick was quick to praise the 23 year old after seeing him train with the other players in his squad: "He is fast and has a good dribbling skills.
"One can see immediately that he recieved good training from the start of his career. His qualities are undisputed, now we must see how he will fit into our side."
