Palace have invited ex-Wimbledon midfielder Michael Hughes for a trial.
Steve Kember will take a look at the 31 year old over the next week, to see if he can offer The Eagles more depth in the middle of the park.
The Northern Irelander has previously played for West Ham, Strasbourg and Manchester City, in a professional career that began in 1988. He has also represented his country on over 50 occasions.
Kember told the Official Palace website: "Michael is a high-calibre player who has proven himself at the highest level.
"We’re taking a look at him to see if we like him and to see if he likes us. Once we’ve had a good look, we’ll take things from there."
