Newspaper reports today are indicating that Hayden Mullins is close to signing for newly promoted Portsmouth for £700,000.
Mullins was voted Palace's player of the season last month, and Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is keen to make Mullins his second signing in a week, after he snapped up Patrick Berger on a free.
Mullins has a year left on his current contract, but if Palace don't sell him soon, he could walk away from the club on a Bosman next May.
Simon Jordan stated at the recent fans forum, that he wouldn't get in the way of Hayden furthering his career, and he believes that he would fit in easily in the Premiership.
Redknapp was quoted in a recent interview stating that he was close to signing a quality player. He said:
"I've got a centre-half I'm hoping to sign this week who I think will be absolutely fantastic for us - a proper player, a top drawer player."
