Ade Akinbiyi's agent wants to find out whether the Nigerian has a future at Selhurst Park under new boss Steve Kember.
Andrew Mills, who is also Hayden Mullins' agent, said: "Players have a difficult decision facing them these days, whether they should play for financial reasons or their careers.
"It's a question that we've gone over and, although money is an important factor, it's not an easy decision," he told Sky Sports News.
"There have been some changes at Palace but Ade has two years left on his contract and the problem lies with the club.
"If they feel that he is surplus to requirements then they should let me and Ade know. But we will see the manager in a couple of weeks and we'll see what the situation is then."
But Mills only has to look at what Kember said last week to get his answer: "Looking at the way I like to play the game, I don't think he [Akinbiyi] fits into that. But he's on a big contract and the problem might be getting rid of him."
