Tariq Nabil
Steve Kember's Palace reserves were held to a 1-1 draw away to third-placed Portsmouth.
Wayne Routledge and Kerem Bashkal went close with efforts early on while Pompey replied with James Keen and Chris Clark shooting over the bar.
Sasa Ilic easily saved Ben Watson's free-kick and Watson skied over shortly afterwards. Approaching half-time, Ilic made a good stop to deny Bashkal.
The Eagles got the first goal in the 56th minute. Bashkal's drive from the edge of the box was parried by Ilic and fell to Tariq Nabil who rounded the keeper and scored.
The equaliser came when Clark's cross was put away by Nightingale, who nipped inbetween two defenders, to net from close range.
Gavin Heeroo and Routledge had chances to score and both teams pressed for a winner but neither side could score again and it ended a draw.
Palace: Cronin, Berry, Simpson, Antwi, Hunt, Borrowdale, Watson, Heeroo, Bashkal (Wilson 72), Nabil, Routledge.
Subs not used: Gibson, Conroy.
