August 23 2002
Stephen Kabba has joined Grimsby Town on a three-month loan.
Kabba, 21, scored the winner in Palace's 2-1 victory over Preston in the first game of the season, coming off the subs' bench.
He was about to sign for the Mariners before that game but the deal was delayed as Trevor Francis did not sign Dele Adebola in time.
But Adebola has since joined Palace on a one-year contract and is now ahead of Kabba in the squad.
It will be a good opportunity for Kabba to get much-needed first team experience under his belt after not getting much action while on loan with Luton last season and Southend in 2000.
