Clinton Morrison's proposed move to Birmingham City is back on.
This is the third attempt by Steve Bruce to capture the signing of Morrison, after his previous two attempts failed to meet Simon Jordan's asking price.
Reports suggest that the fee for Morrison could be as little as £3 million, with a further £500,000 being paid if Birmingham stay in the Premiership for the 2003/2004 season.
Morrison did not play in the weekend's pre-season game against Carshalton, despite being on the bench. He spoke with Birmingham City officials on Sunday, and it is believed that personal terms have been agreed.
Francis is keen for a part exchange deal involving Birmingham's striker Andy Johnson. Johnson is willing to leave St. Andrews if it means that he will get regular first team football.
Johnson did not travel with Birmingham's squad to Scotland at the weekend, but instead has travelled down to Selhurst Park to speak to Palace.
Birmingham's Evening Mail states that Johnson is stalling on personal terms, requesting that Jordan improves his current £3000 per week contract.
