Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. Basically i would like to find old photos on the stadium. I've read the articles about the ground on here and the club website as well as the usual suspects like wikipedia and google, but i would like to see pictures of the stands and stadium during the stages of them being built and even before. I have spent many hours trolling through the internet looking for pictures or even videos of it, and can only find the odd one or two of one stand here or there but nothing taken during the construction, even the Holmesdale end and that was early 90's. I have the CPFC history book that has the newspaper clippings through history and again nothing much. Now i know Selhurst isn't the best of grounds and the Holmesdale was basically a slope but being 20 i dont have too much knowledge of the club before the turn of the millennium. Any help would be much appreciated. Also i've used the search function on HOL to see if this has come up before but couldn't see anything Thanks in advanced, EagleDavy

You may to try a publication called "Images of England - Crystal Palace Football Club" ISBN 0-7524-1544-1 Got some great photos of Palace compiled by Rev Nigel Sands including photo of Selhurst park on 30th August 1924 v Sheff Weds, the first league game at the stadium. We lost 1-0, I hope its not an omen!

cheers guys, Shame Selhurst wasn't built during the internet era, then we could have photos on the net like what that Brighton fan keeps posting on here, but then the worlds not perfect. Very much liking that picture eddy and staffie put up, thanks. OH while i'm here just wondering what them 'tunnels' are that are on the lower holmesdale as everytime i've sat next to them its just steps that lead to an old locked door? any ideas or is it just fire exits of somesorts?

Pretty sure I spotted a middle aged Ron Noades in there somewhere.
In the words of Palace legend Leif Anderson - "A goal is a goal, isn't it?" |
