Looks a little dated now, but all those actors were fantastic in it

What was it, 'stay safe out there'.

Sorry guys...it was "Let's be careful out there"

The replacement sergeant said "Let's do it to them before they do it to us"

Sad news. My favourite show and he played my favourite character.

The day after the final episode, Chris Tarrant on his Capital Breakfast Show said "I can't believe Hill Street Blues has finished. What am I going to do on Monday evenings now?" I may have the day wrong.

Never apologise for accuracy, it's cool.

I thank you for the correction.

In my memory it was Thursday night but maybe not.
I've seen the police station used in the title sequence which is in Chicago but the series was, not surprisingly, filmed in California.
My favourite was Mick Belker but Howard was always good for a laugh.

That's very kind of you, mate. Others on HOL are less keen on corrections!

You've triggered a memory there. Yes it definitely was broadcast on a Thursday at some stage.

Sikking was one of those versatile actors who you see in "loads and loads of things" but (not meant rudely) you probably couldn't name any of them. But every time you re-watch them, you think "oh yes; it's him!" I just read that he based his HSB character on one of his superiors when in the military in the 1950s.

Same.

Wasn't he in Tremors?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
