really hard with some countries, I won't even start with Slovakia, with Switzerland I only got as far as 'Hugo Boss, William Tell, Toblerone' - I had to leave out Swiss Roll not because it's not a person but because it's already got the word Swiss in it. For the Netherlands I'll go 'Johan Cruyff, Golden Earring, Fanny Blankers Cohen, Urban Cookie Collective, Rutger Hauer, Van der Valk' ... your boys etc etc.

Any suggestions for Spain? Must include Sylvia (singer of Viva Espana) imho

One has to include that legendary Spanish supporter 'Manolo El Del Bombo'. His drum takes one hell of a beating.

It does but Ken Baily would have knocked him into a cocked sombrero.

You could probably take Pep out of the list as he's Catalan and they really don't like it when you call them Spanish.

Where's he from then?

Joking aside...aren't we getting a little bit ahead of ourselves here? Aren't you supposed to gloat AFTER you've won? Does pride not come before a fall?

Back to the Netherlands, how could the OP have forgotten the little Dutch boy who put his finger in a dyke?

An unnecessary clarification, even for the younger posters?

But the winner of that one for me notwithstanding its wordiness.

Listen to Jason Cundy's version on Talksport after the game. To be fair he did just include anything and everything that's orange!
