Perhaps from "Where Eagles Dare", but i always thought he was Oirish. I thought he'd died ages ago. Ahh well.

I disengage, I turn the page.

I think you mean 'The Eagle has Landed' where he played a spy and also stared Michael Caine.

'Where Eagles Dare' was Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton.

Very enjoyable actor. One of the best.

My personal favourite, Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Indeed, he was the drunken Irish spy with a terrible accent. I think he liked a drink. RIP.

It must run in the family. I remember working in a bar where they had a 'wrap' party for the TV series 24 which was on a few years back. Keifer Sutherland was there absolutely loaded & I remember thinking how short he actually was in real life.

Maybe more an ensemble actor than a leading man; he was fun in Kelly's Heroes and The Dirty Dozen. MASH and Klute were good in their day and Don't Look Now was a good, if slightly baffling, film.

RIP.
