Listening to talk$hite , grealish, maddison dropped, but them not being around lowers moral, they are good tourists, they get on well with the players, bring a bit of fun to the camp, there was a suggestion that embed a former player for that cheerleader role, without wasting a squad place. I initially thought gazza, tho maybe not the best on second though haha. Which former player would you embed and why?

I think hoddle didn’t take Gazza in 98 because he was too much of a distraction, he was a lunatic in the England camps, and obviously he was done by 98, shame because he was a genius with a football and I’ll always have him in my top England side

Gazza had his opportunity to prove Hoddle was wrong but I'm afraid his performances post WC showed he was a spent force. Back to today's squad and apparently Grealish and Maddison were part of a Whatsapp group with other England players. It read like whose who of bad boys including Dele Ali. Southgate has gradually got rid of this lot and maybe that was the sensible thing to do. As for morale the best way of improving it is by playing well and winning games not texting your mate about some bird you picked up . Edited by Badger11 (09 Jun 2024 10.44am)

Beckham.....instead of partying in the pub, all the lads would be exfoliating with the latest skin treatment from the Body Shop. John Terry....... there would be great unity among the camp. Cos everybody would hate Terry. Michael Owen.......no matter how injury prone & brittle any player was, they would look bulletproof compared to Michael.

Would have to be Jimmy Greaves. Bit of a lad. Good for the group.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Roy Keane could tell them 'that's not good enough' 'you are making basic schoolboy errors' ....and then keano could tell them its ok to abandon the camp and go back to Blighty to walk the dog.
