You could tell they were all enjoying themselves, Eze in particular. I just hope Mr Parish plays hardball when the offers come in.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Parish, while not to everyone's taste, has always been a very shrewd negotiator and while he likes to show his reasonableness in public is behind the scenes a rock hard businessman (keep your jokes to yourself). Kept Zaha here until his contract ran out. And managed to get a few million out of Pulis who staggeringly kept us in the Premier League all those years ago. I think he will be relishing the summer ahead. Parish's stock must be sky high with his fellow owners. It's time for them to put aside any doubts, fund Palace to the hilt, and get that new stand built.

On a huge high. It's like we are unstoppable. Stick together lads. Stay with Glasner and the sky is the limit.

Every new season is a gamble... injuries, form etc... however, it seems like a win/win situation if everyone stays for another year.
This was once a quality forum.... |

Would dearly love this to happen. If everything does click next season, what would the value be of the players then?

The players (and Director of Football) must surely be thinking this would be the worst time to leave Palace. Everything seems to be so uniquely aligned that they would be taking a huge risk jumping ship at this point. On top of that they would take the blame for breaking up a team with such potential. I am saying that we will go on and fulfil that potential - football is a fickle game - but the potential is surely there and at the highest it has been for decades. Everyone at the club must want to be part of that.

The final table and current emerging news fills me with a fair bit of hope. Reports are that Salah will stay, meaning a big new contract. For this reason I can't see Liverpool coming in for Olise or Eze at this stage for the price we would demand with him not being a starter and them needing top recruitments in other areas such as defence. I was worried about Liverpool up to this point. Villa and Arsenal have two excellent wingers and no.10s and will likely recruit in different positions. The remaining factor is Manchester City. For me they are probably the most dangerous looking side to pick up Olise or Eze, especially since Bernardo Silva does not have a regular rotation team mate on the right hand side. Spurs are unlikely to shell out big money for Olise, ended the season very poorly and aren't in the Champions League. Chelsea have no manager and look like an unsettled camp. Why would Olise accept them now when hopes for their progression were far higher last summer? Finally Manchester United will if there is any justice in the world miss out on Europe in the cup final which could prove decisive in persuading Olise and Eze to wait a further year if there is interest. Oli Glasner spoke in his post-Villa interview about the attraction of being part of a happy dressing room and team, something this squad has had for years. I agree that this is important and I also think the players trust Parish. Boehly, Levy? I know who I would prefer. One of Guehi, Anderson and Mateta could still leave and even Wharton though I don't think he will. One of those three players could be worth sacrificing if we need the cash to balance our books. Guehi would be the one for me if we could tie down the other two, reason being that we could surely command a £50m+ fee and we didn't need him to succeed under the new system!!! Mad to think but Andersen was the key to success with his passing not Guehi. Three or four recruitments for a fairly modest outlay and positive retention would be a superb window. Our aim would be to do a Villa. That would be ideal and likely the only way to have a chance of keeping the dream team together.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

Agree with all that Eagles (or do you prefer Mr EaglesEagles?) Man City are the biggest threat - especially since FFP rules don’t seem to apply to them! And perhaps Guehi could be sacrificed for a wad of cash. We seem to be lining up his long term replacement already in Betis.

We are reported to be looking at a new centre back from Real Betis so it is likely that Guehi may be sold anyway.
