Amazing stuff from wardy, i'm worried this means he's not renewing though.

Putting 2 + 2 together Portsmouth have been promoted to the Championship and then he gets this award.

I hope i'm wrong but what a servant to the club!

Very well deserved, but why worried? He is quite some way down the pecking order now that Clyne has established himself as the primary choice for the right sided role.

Assuming Guehi stays, or is replaced like for like, you've got Richards, Clyne and rumours of Ben Johnson all in front of Ward for that position and there's not a chance he could play the Munoz position.

I guess i'm nostalgic for when we got promoted, he's the last link to that team now.

You're right in terms of playing but he's also got a lot of class in terms of how he conducts himself and is a great ambassador for the club. I hope his influence in the dressing room won't be felt too harshly if/when he goes.

They seem like a good bunch currently anyway!

Well done to Joel Ward on receiving this award. He's made a huge contribution to the club including some fine performances this season.

Not always a favourite on here, but if he moves on I wish him well.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

If he does move on I hope we know befor the last game of the season so we can give him a proper send off. A real servant to the club.

I think the club may want him to stay, at least for another season. He offers the following.

1. Club captain.

2. Calm experienced head and role model for the younger players.

3. Utility back if needed.

4. Early cup games.

5. Fulfils the community role of turning up at schools, community centers, charities Palace patronize, hospital visits etc.

Hi Joe, I saw that too, just thought it was strange that this announcement came out today.

I wonder if Joel wants to return to Pompey to help them re-establish themselves or maybe get one last promotion with them before retiring.

As i said earlier, I hope i'm wrong but grateful for his service to date either way. He's been fantastic for the club.

How true. A couple or so years ago he was getting as much abuse on here as Roy.

Apparently, he turned one down a couple of years ago, how true, don't know.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
