Just discovered that "Glas" is the German word for "Glass" which of course is a bit random but surely he was always destined to be a "Glazier"...

It's even better than you think: The correct translation of ‘glazier’ in High German is ‘Glaser’. But I've never heard anyone use this word in a conversation (admittedly, you don't come across this word very often in everyday speech). In spoken (colloquial) German, a glazier is either called a ‘Glaserer’ or a ‘Glasner’.
