I'm sure there are a few of you, like me, who enjoy Formula 1 as well as our beloved Palace. It was a pleasure to see Lando Norris, from Glastonbury, win the Miami GP, his first in 110 F1 races. His McLaren performed faultlessly and he beat Max Verstappen with excellent driving. If the team can continue to show improvements and apply pressure to Red Bull it promises to develop into an enthralling season.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Yes it's amazing what you can achieve when your father is one of the richest people in the country. Incidentally he's from Bristol. That's where he was born anyway. The family moved to Glastonbury to be nearer to the exclusive private school he attended ie so he could become a day pupil rather than a boarder.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Yep, you're right YT, Mr Norris senior does have a few bob which can help a young lad fulfil his dreams, but he also needs talent. Lance Stroll has a father with far more money than Norris, but he is nowhere near as good a driver. Unfortunately, the nature of the sport is such that it costs a great deal of money to participate and most of the drivers have solid financial backing. But money alone doesn't win races.

I entirely agree.

I thought it was a spelling mistake
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |
