Tottenham game plan seems to be standing on the ball until dispossessed.

Suspiciously easy so far.

The Palace U21 are using a high press like the first team,
Spurs are struggling to get forward without us nicking it back & going again - Spurs will have to have a better game plan / make some changes in the second half if they want to get anything out of this game because at the moment Palace are dominating almost every play as reflected in the 3;0 score line.

FT 5-0 Palace.

Sutton pitch is rubbish.

I could get used to this; seniors take note!

Interesting. Maybe we're adopting the Ajax approach where all levels play the same system so they're used to it if they can make it to the first team.

Now I've got power back, here's the match report . . . [Link]

I agree with steeleye, Sutton's pitch was, a bit like the 70's, tho tbf, not only do their 1st team play on it, so do our Ladies & our U21's.

Great to see JRS back & with a hat trick as well, could be cover on our bench as he was included in our last matchday squad. Also, as others have mentioned, they are mirroring the 1st team in the way they played, bodes well for the future.

JRS back is the big story for me. Possibly we don't need a new striker..?

BTW, what is this play off nonsense? The top 16 play a knock out round and the winners are "Champions"? What about the team that finished top?

Upper mid table for us which is disappointing given we were chasing for the top last year. West Ham academy is obviously very good as they have maintained their top 3 status. But what has happened to free-falling Man City?

'The removal of relegation introduces positive jeopardy; it supports clubs making development-first decisions, and minimises the impact of relegation on future groups of U21 players'.

Sometimes I wonder if the PL realise what football is.

If you can go through the season without worrying, you don't really have to bother.

Hardly preparation for the senior level.

Don't knock the play-off system, If they introduced it into the Premier League Palace might win it all. I suspect most of our U21 games have not featured the likes of JRS and Ozoh, hence the lower position. Let's see how the play-offs play out. and don't forget we are the English team in the upcoming final of the International Cup

Imray looks like he had another good game. I liked i think for the 4th goal he was clearly offside but managed to stay close to the ball without touching it allowing another Palace player to race through to set up the goal. Clearly has a good awareness of the game to go with his attacking play.
Rak Saki looked back to his best and you would never he had been out for a number of months. You can see why he was in such high demand from championship teams at the start of the season.
