Bear with me on this, but several horses from the military have got loose and run amok through central London. These horses are normally trained to deal with normal traffic and other everyday occurrences so something must have spooked them. Why am I posting this story? Well this morning whilst walking my dog around the village, the food waste truck was doing its rounds. My dog was spooked by it and became very nervous and agitated; something he has never done before. He pulled to get home without really starting his walk. The vehicle was electric and made a particularly tone of whine and I guess this affected my dog’s hearing. He’s fine with other electric cars but this one spooked him badly. I’m just wondering whether the horse incident is a similar situation but with more serious results.
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

There are all sorts of odd things spooking animals, both wild and pets, with weird happenings to do with modern technology.

Fascinating. We witnessed something very odd the other evening. We live right on the coast in Hove and at around dusk last Tuesday we watched hundreds, probably thousands, of seagulls flying in the same direction due south. There was wave after wave of them. Most odd.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

You would expect camels on the loose in London these days.

I visited it last Summer and there's certainly not enough space for them to perch on the turbines, and I wouldn't imagine that they'd particularly like the movement of the turbines either. On a wind farm-related topic, there have been 3 episodes of mass people on beaches suffering from stinging eyes and breathing difficulties in recent years. One at Shoreham. One near Eastbourne. And one near Southend. Each of those places coincidentally have wind farms off them.

I hope nobody was injured as they can be quite hazardous. From what I have read, the horses are now in a stable condition...
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I think my question was more about the seagulls being attracted to the wind turbines rather than a desire to perch there. I know pigeons use magnetism to follow a route and I was wondering whether a sound (which we may not be able to hear) being generated by the blade movement, was ‘calling’ them.
