If Olise's agent had said to you, you can have him for 40k a week on a 30m release clause or 200k a week for no release clause, what would you have said? (And those are the only options he's willing to consider). It absolutely benefits the player but players have power to take the terms that appeal to them and reject the ones that don't. Or, he wont sign a contract without a release clause full stop. The kid clearly wants to be in control of his career, and not have a chairman holding out for a world record bid. If he has a clause, and its £60m, I cant imagine it not getting triggered.

Long gone are the days when the big 6 can cherry pick the best talent on the cheap from other Premiership clubs. When United paid 80 million for Maguire I laughed out load, Guehi is much better so add another 20 million on for his signature. What did they pay for Anthony, I would add another 20 million on that for Olise’s signature! Unless we want to sell any of our players nothing much will happen, so until I see it on Sky football news as a done deal, I’m a non believer…… Edited by Gary St.Andrews (09 May 2024 8.01pm)
