Maybe I'm getting carried away after the performances in the last 2 games, but this squad (and manager) look to have more exciting potential than any since El Tel's "Team of the Eighties."
Add to the players that took to the field on Sunday Guehi, Doucoure, Lerma, Johnston, maybe Franca too... Wharton and Munez were superb additions this year... and Glasner looks a great appointment.
The Team of the Eighties, of course, disintegrated before our eyes when Sansom went to Arsenal and Venables jumped ship. If only we could keep this squad together to see what they could achieve next year.
On MOTD2 Danny Mills said Eze should be playing Champions League and he wont be at Palace next season. But you could say the same for 5 or 6 of them. Suppose they all stay with us?

IMO we are only a couple of good signings, and some injury luck away from being something very very special.

I genuinely think next season could be the one that brings us a European spot.

I wasn't joking elsewhere when I suggested a cheeky bid on us for the title next year (OK I was). But imagine putting money on it 2 games ago. The odds would have been astronomical.

I didn’t see Danny Mills say that on MOTD2?
