Absolutely fantastic!!
Back to back,very impressive wins.
Can we make it three in a row against a talented Newcastle ??
Think so and going for a 2-1 home win.

Newcastle are a very good side on their day.

If Wharton is OK we will give them a good game but since we are now all but safe, we could relax a bit. That could be a good or bad thing.

I'd like to see our star players showing the fans what they have been missing all season because of all the injuries. If that happens, it will be a very entertaining game.

No idea about the score, but you expect Newcastle to win as a neutral.

Newcastle will be totally different opposition to what appeared to be a jaded W.Ham.
They have emerged victorious in 4 of their last 6 PL games and I suspect the result will either be an honourable draw or a win for the Geordies.

good to have you back Willo, I thought we'd lost you for a moment there to the world of unbridled optimism after yesterdays superb result

Suffice to say my dial rarely rests on "Unbridled optimism" in terms of our prospects.

Indeed a superb result and a superlative performance and as per usual by prediction proved to be way off beam.
In the final analysis I am a lustreless, intellectually starved dud and one of life's modest trundlers.

I think OG might rest Olise for this one and start Ayew. I also wonder if Richards will be fit enough to start again. Given our injury problems coupled with Newcastle's rest period I think this is going to be a tough one (apparently they're second only to City in the form table). I'd love another win but I'm going to say 1-1.

It was a great performance yesterday, but they gave us time and space to play - i mean, Mateta stopped, turned, read War and Peace, then shot past Fabianski for his second. West ham was as poor a team as I've seen. Newcastle won't be such pushovers.

Saying That, we're playing with renewed confidence, and enjoying our football. At Home, we run out 3-1 winners.

"It was a Team effort, I guess it took all players working together to lose this one"

This one for those reasons. Unlike our last 2 opponents, not a team we are playing with the benefit of a full recovery week and with them off the back of a European defeat a couple of days earlier.

And not just Richards on the fitness. Hughes only 50% fit and playing through injury.

Saying that, we are a team transformed with our tails in the air, so who knows?

Newcastle will undoubtedly give us more of a match than the tired Hammers, but if Ollie feels able to play the same front three we should be able to earn ourselves a point. I would, of course, hope we can keep a clean sheet and score a couple of cracking goals on the break.

I'll be satisfied with a draw.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
