Seven goals in today’s game. Any other team would expect to be first on Match of the Day but not us. Last again and to add insult to injury Murphy says “Sorry Palace but Eze won’t be there next season. He’s Champions League quality”. I’m done with this programme and their big team bias.

Annoyed me too. But our team are seen as forever low down the order.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

That comment made me swear. A lot. Chase yourself Murphy.

Yes, it was very exasperating. And here's a larger point: why does MOTD persist with Danny Murphy? No-one goes 'Hey, Doris, come in, quick! Danny Murphy is on MOTD tonight!' Instead, the nation sits and watches his miserable unsmiling face, perched like an egg above a procession of dreary Merino wool buttoned-up jumpers, droning on in his monotonous voice. In years of watching him, he's never made me smile, never shown any wit, never brought any insight. What he does is offer a sneery, superior commentary without charm. And he is always condescending about Palace. Even when he was forced to say something positive about Eze's fantastic scissors kick, he has to change it into a snide remark about Palace not being able to keep hold of him. Ugh.

Why would you go to Liverpool without Klopp? Another period in the wilderness coming up for the bindippers. City have already agreed terms for Paqueta. Arsenal or Villa and you’re not gonna win anything. Wilf went abroad, that went well. Stay in sunny South London, you know it makes sense. Danny Murphy still on the marching powder judging by some of his comments, prize bell end.

Because there was not much to play for in our game? Everton Vs Forest was huge in the relegation battle. The Villa and Liverpool games were relevant to the title race and Champions League positions. Ours was basically, can West Ham hold on to a Conference League spot? No they're s***.

That was the logic, hard to disagree but if you don't like Danny Murphy be careful what you wish for - could be Paul Merson next.
Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders |

If we play like we did yesterday next season we’ll be in the Champions League. Not going anywhere. Murphy is just a d**k.

Personally it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m not interested in what Danny Murphy or any of his mates think or the running order. I was at the game, I loved what I watched. The drive home was a very happy one and makes up for a lot of the very poor times. Enjoy these moments.

Last weekend MOTD2 was glowing about Palace. In the past, Danny Murphy has praised good Palace performances on a number of occasions. The running order was perfectly logical in my view and as others have stated. I'm no great fan of MOTD, particularly given Lineker's permanent residency, but on this occasion I find the opening post to be unjustified.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |
