Do you still have them in your home? A colleague of mine has them and is considering getting them removed next year, some water companies will provide grants or help towards cost but it varies between water boards.

Lead pipe sections are still in homes and also outside in pipes running to the path/road. Obviously, if outside, you might need a concrete breaker and certainly a spade to access them if attempting repair or replacement.
