Clearly offside. Linesman well out of position but enough to see it was likely offside but the pr*ck chose not to raise the flag after the goal.

I thought it was offside in real time, but wasn't that surprised when no one overturned it - I actually thought we were lucky not to be 0:3 down at halftime.

They said the goal scorer wasn’t interfering with play. Farcical decision. Didn’t deserve to win anyway, with such a limp and ineffective performance. We will win nothing under Southgate.

Just the sort of performance I’d expect from England under GS. Edited by Eaglehamster (24 Mar 2024 8.12am)

That's a new one. A goal-scorer is not interfering with play? As Brian Clough said if he's not interfering why is he on the pitch. He is initially offside but the ball was passed to his mate, however that is after the ball was last kicked. At that time both Brazil players are well offside. Enjoyable friendly, Brazil always looked likely, England you must take what chances you get at this level. Prefer the yellow shirts, though.

Indeed, a total shambles - you should read the convoluted explanations this morning. Shows why linesmen should just flag when it's that obvious.

I never saw the game but the explanations given regarding why the goal was allowed to stand are clear and I totally understand why it was not over-turned given the current protocol. Edited by Willo (24 Mar 2024 11.08am)
