I see united are cancelling season tickets for anyone who does not attend at least 17 home games next season. You can transfer or donate if you can't make it. I think brentford have a similar system and also I think spurs are bringing it in. Do you think the same should be for us or could happen? What are your thoughts? Do clubs favour the match day tourist over the loyal supporters? I have a season ticket and I usually get around 10 home games in a season plus the odd away games as I travel with work and go between UK and Ireland a lot. I always have someone that can take my seat or I resell to the club. I would hate to not have my seat anymore. I am of the opinion that if you can't make it to a game you should be able to sell your ticket back to the club and not be penalized. The amount of train strikes and fixture changes in a season is ridiculous tho and understand people who can't make it all the time.

I think if you’ve paid for your season ticket you should have the right to go to whatever amount of games you want, I missed three games last season and claimed back £52 for two games which came off of this seasons ticket and my mates wife had it the other one I missed. I’ve missed four so far this season and have claimed back over £100 which will come of next season. I like the system because I’m not under pressure to go if it’s switched to Monday night or midweek when I don’t fancy it. If palace did change it and say I had to go to a certain amount of games or lose my ticket, with all the travel chaos, strange kick off times and Monday night games these days, that would be my lot, after all these years, it’s been emotional but they can shove it up their arse Edited by monkey (13 Mar 2024 3.58pm)

I now (since the Sours home game) only attend about half the games because I find evening games too tiring and time consuming (travel down from Sutton Coldfield one day and back the next). I've managed to sell almost all my tickets for such games through the club's system. Edited by doombear (13 Mar 2024 4.32pm)

I'd tell them to go f**k themselves. I've bought the ticket and I'll decide when I want to go. If I don't want to go for any reason I deem necessary, then I won't and if they want to start arsing around with saying a minimum number of games, then they can piss off. It's not like we've got whole blocks empty. I know what that's like, as I remember those games when we used to play Swindon or some other god-forsaken team on a dark Tuesday night with only me, my Dad and my brother being the only people in our block. United are a bunch of w@nkers anyway, they routinely mug their fans and it wouldn't surprise me if they started charging them to use the bogs as well or something.
The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots |

I have a season ticket, probably get to something like 13-14 home league games out of the 19, as I sometimes choose to go to a Dorking (non-league) match instead, especially if the trains are up the spout. Don't choose to resell because people near me who have done that have had their seats bought by Chelsea and Man Utd fans, which then annoys all the season ticket holders adjacent. Palace aren't exactly fighting off a massive waiting list of fans, so I doubt the club would go down this route. Especially as you could bet that somehow the box office would mess it up anyway!

You could just get £26 per game off next seasons ticket. My seat never sells according to those I sit with but I still get the refund

The whole ticketing system is a farce . We are not fans anymore just customers . So if I decide not to go my seat is empty and that's that . If they want it back they can have it . I also know a couple of lads who never attend home games , the season ticket is just a means to get away tickets . For them its all about going around the country having a laugh . Im pretty sure they sell the home games but of course if this idea was to come in the club would lose them . I dunno I just wish we could go back 50 years , pay the guy on the turnstile in cash and stand behind the goal .

How do you get a refund if your seat does not sell?

I think what happens is that the seat sells (otherwise you wouldn't get a refund) but, particularly in the Holmesdale, the person who has bought the ticket doesn't sit in the seat because they want to stand with their friends in a completely different block.
