First of 2 PL Cup fixtures this week.

Heavy Sutton pitch.

Grante promoted, rather unusual team, however Imray has just popped a clever goal in.

1-0 Palace.

3:0 by Trialist B. Seems to become our standard scoreline ...... Let the 3rd 3:0 follow on Saturday

The game looked in the balance when Imray caught the goalkeeper off his line with a great lob.

No Umeh or Plange tonight.

Gave the ball away a lot but the visitors did not take advantage.

Well done the lads in not ideal conditions.

Did any of you watch the game live or highlights? I am wondering what you think of Imray? Young talent and his name comes up a lot in highlights I watch. Capable of goals and seems to be a right back. Could be a long term back up for Munoz or too early to say?

I've been a fan of his for a while and believe he is reaching the point where he should be training regularly with the 1st team squad (if not already doing so). I think he can make the step up, initially as Munoz's back-up. I will be interested to see what Glasner makes of him.

I wasn't at the match (living as I do in the Midlands) but was Glasner at the U21 game last night? I think I recall him saying he wants to watch as much of our club's football as possible.

He's impressing regularly in attack, looks more useful on the wing.

It's training with the first team squad where proper assessment can be made as the step up is so significant....I mean, if I remember correctly our U21 side was beaten quite easily by a league one team early on this season.

That said, I do think we are starting to see some talent come from our academy that's worthy of being sold (the academy is expensive) and in special cases actually break into our side...which considering this league is challenging for the best in the world....is quite something.

I think Imray is one of those who may end up being sold and having a good career in the football league - he's already 20 and never played senior football above the National League, so it would be unusual to make it as a Prem player from there. Not impossible given his performances, but feels like a big ask.

I think more likely we sell for six-figure fee, hopefully with some sell-on options if he does continue his upward trajectory.

The thing really in his favour with us is the lack of alternative wing backs - if Munoz was to get injured, it's hard to see who in the senior squad could fill that role in Glasner's system. Certainly not Ward or Clyne, so Imray may get a window to show what he can do.

Exciting prospect regardless, and a good pick-up from non-league Chelmsford.

He had a serious injury soon after he came as the result of a nasty tackle which put him out for quite a time. His development, therefore, was badly affected and it has taken time for him to get fully back.

For me, he's been the standout player in the U21s so far this season, especially in the bigger games, so I think he can continue to improve. Just my opinion.

Who is the best young Palace goalie?

We have so many, here is one who can't stop saving penalties.

Owen Goodman, on loan at Colchester, they just love him and I think he was called up by England U20s.

Loved the crowd going bonkers.

Trialist seems to be a regular scorer in these games, might be a good idea to play him in place of Mateta or Edouard who have lost the knack.
