Really optimistic about this appointment.

Got a good feeling about this, looking forward to exciting, pressing football with some intent.

Oh well, the worst kept secret is out and we have a young Austrian to manage our club and I reckon most of us are excited by the prospect of some entertaining football. He certainly appears to get excited in his technical area which is no bad thing. Bring it on.

My only reservation is his lack of PL experience which may take him time to adapt to.

Good luck to you Oliver, or can we call you Ollie?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Good recent interview with him here, it's in German but if you turn on YouTube subtitles they're pretty accurate.

I think he talks well, comes across as a decent person and I like how he didn't just go to the Saudi league. Everyone I've spoken to here thinks he's a great manager and are a little surprised we've managed to get him.

Hopefully he'll be able to adjust in time which is no small task but he certainly has good credentials.

Fingers crossed we can get through this season and then really start to build..
I just hope we've been honest with him and said it's highly likely we'll be selling a couple of star players in the summer to fund the build.

As everyone, I'm really hoping this works out and that he's not handed in his resignation by fulltime this eve.

I am so loving ye way that fans and non fans alike are all over social media citing what a great forward thinking appointment this is when I am willing to bet a week or so ago most had probably never heard of the guy.

All I will say is we heralded De Boer as major coup

Ha ha that’s me ! I’ve never heard of him and everyone I speak to has never heard of him either… but that doesn’t stop the minds wandering. I think it’s because we read the media and apparently he’s meant to be alright . So I’m excited . The fact spurs were interested at one point speaks volumes

It was a long and sycophantic interview where he was essentially asked over and over: how has it been chilling out.

The feedback does seem to be that we've got a goodun who'll expect major investment. Assurances must have been given.

I do worry Henderson and França might be not worth anything like what we paid , which could hamstring us

Welcome to the Greed is Good League.
He's barely walked through the front door and The Telegraph is already running a story that, 'Glasner faces a battle to hold on to his stars' while name checking Guehi and Eze along the way.
If Wharton has another few good games no doubt the papers will be 'selling' him to.
If you're outside the top clubs you don't exist it would seem, and you have no right to your players when the big clubs stamp their feet and cry. 'I Want...'

To be fair, we haven't sold anyone of note for years.

Parish held onto Zaha under pressure from the likes of Arsenal when he could have sold ( admittedly not for his valuation of the player ).

I think Palace need to sell an asset in order to bolster the squad as a whole.

Our most saleable players are Olise, Eze and Guehi, maybe Andersen too. I would expect at least one to leave in the summer.

This is a good appointment, clearly Glasnost is here to take Palace back into the EU.

Don't use that word on here, it's a swear word as far as I'm concerned at the moment.
