Lots of reports he's signed a 2-year deal to take over from Roy.

Hugely exciting appointment - an excellent CV most notably with Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga - won the Europa League in 21/22 with Frankfurt, reaching the German cup final the same season.

A very modern, high-pressing manager with a reputation for organising good defensive structures.

The sort of move we should have made in the summer - credit to the board, it looks a real coup.

well, that is the type of CV that i have always espoused. And not one of these newly managerial clowns like Rooney/Lampard or other fella lacking in silverware.

Glasner-Glazier......onwards and upwards.

Best of Luck to Roy, and thanks for all the memories.

Its funny how despite my having never heard of this guy 24 hours ago I'm actually feeling quite enthusiastic. If true I think he could be great for us. Sadly these kind of appointments usually go one of two ways. Either he is a massive success and gets quickly tempted away to a bigger club as soon as they need a new coach or he fails to get to grips with English football and the board are forced into another change. I was told he left Frankfurt due to disagreements over recruitment so I hope he realises we dont splash the cash very often!
Really hope this works out.
On a seperate personal note I hope Roy is ok, has his family around him and wish him all the very best.

I believe we talked to him in the summer but elected to keep Roy on. He does have a solid CV, speaks English very well and seems tactically astute and in tune with the modern game.

Much prefer the sound of him to some of the others we have been linked with. He is also well aligned to us as his last club, Eintracht Frankfurt, had the eagle head as their club emblem and a nickname Die Adler - The Eagles.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Compared with Potter, Cooper, Lampard, Rooney, Southgate, etc this looks like a very superior upgrade and likely to turn us around by intelligent utilisation of our current squad.

However, he is so different to Roy Hodgson it will probaby take a few matches for the players to adapt to his methods.

I feel encouraged. Just a shame this coincides with Roy Hodgson's illness which I pray is not serious.

But it goes to show the pressures that managers have to endure and I wish him all the best for a quick recovery and a relaxing retirement.

Heard from my mate (and Palace fan) that his alleged co - Emanuel Pogatetz - flew to London today. But I can't guarantee if that's true or not. So don't crucify me if it's wrong, I'm just passing on what he said.

I think it's a risky move and one that's very un-Parish like.

If Glasner was coming in during the summer then I would feel a lot more positive.

He looks to have the attributes we were hoping for in a new manager but he also has to adapt very quickly to the Premier League.
