With the manage situation a shambles, with "press" reports saying he cant find anyone to take the job, dose anyone think that Cooper would turn the Palace job down, i cant see him getting a better club, and the more i think about it, Cooper is the best option
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

I have this feeling that we have somone already to take over in the summer. Any Job now will only be short term until then so that is why no one will take the job. I Could be wrong tho.

Cooper, yeah Tommy, or even Jilly. Steve Cooper worked wonders at Nottingham Forest didn`t he in the premier league, not, just the kind of forward move we need, there was a good reason he ended up getting the sack. If we have someone lined up for summer. Then getting someone in temporary is obviously the problem.Would have thought Paddy obvious choice but doesn't seem that's the case

I don't know how true it is but I'm reading reports that Cooper, Lopetegui and Potter have turned the job down. I mean Cooper isn't an inspiring choice but if even he doesn't want the job where does that leave us. I'll do the job, I'm cheap and my Football Manager CV for Palace is good. Into my 3rd season and I've got us into Europe, was hired with a shoe string budget and ageing squad. I know had 90m to spend and some exciting youngsters in the team. Can't be any worse than Roy can I? I'd play Franca and not Schlupp....I promise Edited by palaceontheup (07 Feb 2024 10.08am)
Yannick Bolasie - Glenn Murray - Wilfried Zaha Most exciting attacking trio at Selhurst Park in years. |

Edited by johnny the eagle (07 Feb 2024 9.57am) Edited by johnny the eagle (07 Feb 2024 10.19am) The research is out there. Moneyballs says keep a consistent team and the performances will follow. We have been unable to do that partly due to key injuries. Forest didn't as they did not learn from Fulham's error and sploshed the dosh replacing in large numbers the team that got them up. Cooper had to manage a dressing room full of strangers. He would not get that with us. And if Forest do go down, we may (OK, the biggest "MAY" get a sneaky chance at one or two of their talents if they have a good relationship with SC. I have read a report that Cooper is not interested as he views the Board issues, depleted squad, poor morale and support unrest as reasons to avoid. This has to be click bait tosh. What other reason would you go to a new club? If he performs as a White Knight his reputation is restored. And is anyone else forming an orderly queue for his services right now? And there is his proven talent with youth. Those saying he is not up to it are often the same people who say that Roy is staying safe and not allowing its younger players to flourish. You cant have it both ways. SC may bring that synergy. Personally, I suspect we will stay with Roy for now as he is still likely to keep us safe. Just. Roy will go in the summer with less fanfare than the last time and SC will then join and start the process his way clean slate.

The longer there's radio silence from Parish indicates that he's finding it hard to get someone to take the job. If indeed he is even genuinely looking ! Cooper didn't get the job before, has he done much of merit to warrant consideration now ? The danger is appointing someone now just to replace Hodgson rather than get the best man for the job in the fullness of time. I think this is a good case for a ' firefighter ' but there doesn't appear to be any out there. Edited by NEILLO (07 Feb 2024 10.45am)

If the silence is because work is underway to replace Roy this week then fine, but if not then I see the lack of comment a bit cowardly. In times of crisis you need leaders at every level and right now it's hard to find any on the pitch, on the bench or in the boardroom.

I am in the anyone’s better than Roy camp - so I’d welcome Coopers appointment. He wanted the job before and I really see ZERO reason to believe any of the nonsense being written in the media about nobody wanting the job now. It’s silly to suggest it. I honestly cannot see any rational reason for SP not pulling the trigger now - other than they already have an agreement with Roy’s successor and he won’t (or can’t take it sooner)…….REALLY hope that doesn’t mean Southgate.
