Traditionally, if our skipper wins the toss, he like to attack the Holmesdale end in the second half.

Is there any data to indicate that we score more goals and concede fewer goals when this is the case?

Yesterday confused me. They won the toss chose to KO and then WE turned around!

How come we now seem to quite often play towards the Holmsdale end in the first half. I know the toss gives the team winning the choice but when I had a season ticket five years ago we always played towards the Holmsdale in the second half. I assumed that if the opposition won the toss they decided to attack the Sainsbury’s end second half as their fans were at that end in the Arthur.

As I said on another thread, we also KO towards the Holmesdale 1st half against Brentford so we now have back to back home league wins doing that and just the one home league win all season the other way. Are Roy and the team superstitious and will want to keep to the Holmesdale 1st half in future?

Brendan Rogers has said several times in interviews that he is aware that we like to kick towards the Holmesdale in the second half & his Leicester teams (when they win the toss) make the choice to deliberately deny us that opportunity.

On other odd occasions when the same thing happened I just assumed that the opposition had won the toss & chosen likewise.

Think most teams have this preference at home. We are not alone. Have wondered whether there is an unwritten code with captains about conceding to the home team on the what goes round principle.

Maybe the team just don’t give a toss. (sorry I couldn’t help myself)

Maybe given the importance of the game, and potentially knowing that Olise was unlikely to last 90mins they wanted to start fast....

Put thegame to bed in the first half...

I have nothing new to say specifically on Tuesday's events, but I would guess that as early as since the fifties we have kicked towards the Holmesdale in the second half in a good 75% of matches. Many of us senior citizens will recall trekking along the old Park Road mud heap at halftime in order to be behind the opposition goal again.
