It certainly is. If he doesn’t go before Tuesday we’re probably stuck with him for a while longer - We’ll probably get fired up Tuesday and win, SP will think it’s all rosy again. Same thing happened against Brentford.

thats why it runs deeper than Roy. parish has him on strings.
no other manager would accept the lack of funds. every one saying potter is coming to palace because he was at the game... why would he, i dont think potter is daft enough to come here? i personally think he was there to look at england internationals as hes gunning to the england job. or... just fancied to watch a bit of football with his kids

The current problem lies with the manager. I get why many are criticising the board but they have FFP and no where near the money to compete with the big boys or even Nottingham Forest so the manager has to produce something out of not a lot.
In his defence he has been saddled with the loss of Decouri, Olise and Ayew, all key players but he seems to have an aversion to bringing in the Academy players who are knocking on the door. If I was a player I would be as bored as hell with constant defensive drills and very little about the offensive side.
When he replaced Viera he had to adopt an attacking g style of play and it paid dividends and this happened because he had to!!

In think he should go, not only for the sake of a completely fresh approach but his own health.

Thanks Roy but we need a change.

i had to stop reading as soon as you said we need to be careful for FFP reasons. palace havent and dont come anywhere near that. plus forest spent millions on 50 players

lets compare it to all the clubs spending their money at the local chinese take away shop. the bigger clubs spending hundreds of pounds on chow main, duck wraps. crispy chilli beef.......... palace are the only team who walk in and only spend 99p on prawn crackers

That'd be why Nottingham are under investigation? Not to mention their larger stadium and I expect they've sold more players than us in their brief period back in the Premier league. I'm not saying Palace couldn't spend more but at the same time, Palace can't spend 100 mill... Then there's the case of keeping Palace in the positive and not indebted to people, again, I'm just referring to what's happened, then players have to want to come to Palace..under Roy and Palace being Palace...the only way that will happen is if it's a young player with a point to prove, silly wages given or players that have been shoved to the back of another team. Would any player want to come and play under Roy? I'm not so sure.

As for booting Parish out... I'd love to know the logic as to what people think would happen. Ok... so we get a new chairman, probably sold shares to someone, it could be the 2 Americans we already have and Textor. You reckon they would give 2 tits about spending any money? They haven't so far unless it's murmurs of Textor doing some dodgy deal. You reckon a new chairman will splash the cash ans do it wisely. Maybe we could do a Nottingham and buy 50 players and still be down the bottom end of the table, or Everton for that matter. Its worked wonderfully for them all this spending.

Lot of people singling out Parish on here, but what about Harris and Blitzer? These guys are legit billionnaires, but they seem to be keeping the purse strings firmly shut and before anyone says "they probably don't trust Parish to give him the money" then why don't they force him out? If anyone could buy out Parish or put the squeeze on him to quit, it's these two.

At the end of the day we can only spend what we have and if our billionairre board members aren't putting the money in, then where's it coming from? If we sell our best players to raise finance, then not only do we have to fill their positions, but also have some cash left over to bolster up others. Saw a post about us spending £40 mill in the summer and yeah I don't know why we've spent £20 mill on a player that we're not playing, Holding I can only think we bought as Tompkins is constantly injured (and not good enough anymore) and they might of thought Anderson was off to Newcastle. With Henderson, well Butland left and we let him as we had too many goalies at the time, but Guita f*cked off and left us in the sh!t, so I suspect we we're forced to get the only prem level goalie who was available.

But getting back to Roy, he has to go doesn't he? Granted we've got injuries and need to bolster up the squad, but that was an absolute dire display, with yet more excuses in the post match comments and the players just looked like they'd given up.

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots

I feel sorry for Roy. It’s feels like the end of the road after todays capitulation. I for one don’t blame him. He did a fantastic job last season and started this one well, but the truth is, his appointment was always a short term stop gap.

At the time we were all torn as to whether he should be given another year. He was the cheap low risk option, which probably suited our pragmatic approach at time. The squad is thin and unbalanced, and in my opinion he’s doing the best he can with the limitations. We’re 2-3 signings away from being a really strong side.

I don’t know who the club are speaking with - but I don’t see any other reason for Potter to be at the game today. He would be my first choice replacement. If he was there for another reason and we don’t have the right candidate currently available, I’d like Roy to see the season out with us.

If it is the end for Roy, it’s a sad day for football. Great servant to the game and we’ve been fortunate to have him to help guide us through some rough patches in recent years, and I hope most Palace fans will remember him fondly for that.
