Yep, weird film eh Steve. A Coen brothers film - say no more. I'm sure there was mention of it in a previous thread. I quite enjoyed the ridiculousness of it.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

The first Bit with Buster Scruggs in it was Fantastic, and the bit with Tom Waites in was good, But the scene where Buster uses the Table to great effect is hilarious.

The Liam Neeson character, the travelling showman....was hilarious. Especially when he visited the wh0re. Bringing along the armless, legless actor fella.

Fargo is easily one of my favourite films ever. Nothing wrong with that Steve. In addition to those already mentioned Raising Arizona & Oh, Brother Where art Thou? are very enjoyable. Their films are almost always worth seeing although Barton Fink was a struggle.

I don't think they are overrated but I get the criticism., they tend to the self indulgent in their films, it's a blessing and a curse. You get scenes like this, which are probably indicative of whether you'd like their comedy style or not.....Personally I find it hilarious. They are hit and miss...sometimes I think deliberately so, insomuch as they move between genres of movies and commercial and non commercial. I think No Country for Old Men is extremely good. I liked Fargo personally....Here is a ranking of their movies on Youtube. I would recommend the Fargo series that was made...it was very very good....well the first two seasons of it was. I bought both....but then I noticed in the third season the modern Hollywood disease had creeped into it. Personally though I think when the Cohen brothers are disciplined they are capable of great movies....They can make very good commercial movies when they want to....They showed that even early on with 'Blood Simple'. That underlying talent is very important. The Cohen brothers are capable of great movies, whereas so many directors in Hollywood are frankly incapable.

That's fair and I like that they make the films they want to with actors playing quirky characters rather than have cartoon superheroes flying around with monsters.

Steve Buschemi in Fargo......a brilliant performance. As was yer man who played the henpecked husband trying to kidnap his own wife. Buschemi was described by multiple witnesses as 'kinda funny lookin'
