This post has been merged from a topic called 'ESL court decision' by becky

The European Court of Justice has ruled that UEFA & FIFA were un-lawful in their decision to ban the forming of the European Super League, could, potentially open a new 'can of worms' . . . [Link]

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Get rid of the so called big six, Domestic leagues will become more competitive and enjoyable for real fans. Premier League is all about greed with obscene wages and transfer fees.

Had sky news on, i know, they are all over this like a rash. Talk about a massive 'promo video/sell'. Good luck to those that join it, as it will happen, sooner than we thought.

Already announced a proposal for a new competition

[Link]

64 clubs. 3 leagues. Promotion and Relegation between the leagues. 14 matches followed by a knockout. Best domestic teams get promoted into the 64. Worst in the 64 get relegated out.

Sounds like a direct competition to the UEFA competitions, rather than domestic football.

As I understand it nobody is saying clubs would leave their domestic league . The proposals are to replace EUFA run European KO competitions with a league . It just means clubs qualifying for the super league would play a full season in Europe instead of getting knocked out before Christmas .

Obviously need more info as to the exact make up but as long as qualification is on merit I dont really see much problem with it

Thanks Ambrose
Anything that replaces the corrupt EUFA gets a thumbs up from me

Firstly I am not surprised.

I have said this for years that football is anti competitive and anytime the authorities are in court they usually lose because it's a monopoly.

I have never understood how the transfer window is legal as outside of it willing buyer and seller are prevented from doing business.

The judgement today has just confirmed this.

That said this is a green light for the big clubs to bully their way into getting what they want. The money from this will go to those clubs and will not benefit the greater football community.

The best thing to happen is the fans to vote with their feet.

It's going to get one but not in a good way. How long before they invite clubs from outside of Europe to join?

Saudi United?
