Holloway: "In fairness to my former chairman, what he's done with the club up to the present day is fantastic."

Except . . .

If true, pretty much explains why it’s hard for palace to get a manager other than Roy. Anybody that wants proper control has no chance. Explains a lot.

When you look at it the sh1t that Holloway wanted, in this case Bendtner, I'm not inclined to blame Parish too badly.

Agreed Bendtner, proved to be a basket case after leaving Arsenal we dodged a bullet there.

It was Ollies sweet shop when we came up. That French bloke Blancmange who never played a game was well wobbly.

How do you know that he was Ollie's signing as opposed to Parish's

Although if I remember correctly, in that window after just getting promoted, didn't we sign a something like 16 players in order to be ready for the newly promoted PL season, so much so that in the end we had to sell one or 2 of them because we couldn't get them registered within the stipulated guidelines.

If he is talking about the same window then it seems a bit tacky to be complaining about not getting one particular player.

I thought it was 15 - and I agree with you. I remember Holloway being seemingly happy with his "scattergun' approach at the time. Even the blindest fan could see half the signings were totally pants. But not Holloway. A poor judge of players obviously, and complaining about not getting Bendtner only backs that up. The guy is making himself sound like a fool. As for his mate Pulis, he did well for us but he's not going to say anything positive after what happened. One guy with an axe to grind, the other just a clown.

Won't listen to too much I what that cracker has to say, tried his best to derail certain promotion, replying on jedis last gasp goal to scrape the play offs before reverting to dougies tactics to see us through.

I am not 'Au Fait' with the precise number but during Holloway's time at the club the signings I can recall are :

Kevin Phillips, Ashley Richards, Stephen Dobbie, Adrian Mariappa, Jack Hunt, Jimmy Kebe, Dwight Gayle, Cameron Jerome, Marouane Chamakh, Barry Bannan, Jerome Thomas, Adlene Guedioura, Jose Campana, Neil Alexander,Florian Marange.

A manager having proper control is a myth. No manager does these days. Even Pep revealed recently when he told the board at City what he wanted they said no. He had to accept that and did.
Any manager that thinks he is going to be completely in charge of all playing/coaching matters at a Premiership club will not get a job in the first place
