I should add that the original cost of £100m was pre COVID and building costs have since soared so it is possible that the cost is now £140m? Edited by Badger11 (04 Dec 2023 3.27pm)

Indeed Badger, I was just going to post that in the last thread on main stand / ground improvements (as recently as Nov 2023) the costs were projected as £150 Million - or £150 / 200 Million depending upon which of the posts you were more inclined to believe. Originally posted by Badger11

He was later on almost begging for other investment for it. 160m is still too low this is why it's not worth it may as well spend double on a new ground. People asking what happened to 100m It would have gone into other improvements to the ground and the likes of training/academy plus it wasn't 100m anyway it was how much they paid for the club which was close to 80m. The Americans have no issue using lots of money over in US so it does make you wonder why they wont put anything into Palace.

Can anyone remind me why building a new stadium at 'Crystal Palace Park' fell by the wayside?

I'm not trying to defend Parish but maybe the owners can't fund all the stand themselves as may be in danger of breaking similar FFP rules as Everton as I'm sure some of their cheating was to do with new ground. I may be completely wrong though!

£45M - that's about half a Harry Maguire.
