Perhaps not something most think about every day!

Is an interesting one though, and in the news again as British-Greek relationships sour. What's the thoughts?

As such incredible pieces of art, I have an associated sense of superiority and wry smile for them being here, but if I'm honest, think they should return 'home'. In any instance, I'd probably want them kept where they're safest, which may well be London but that might be incorrect and misrepresentative of the bubble and squeaks.

The ol' 'half n half' seems like it's fair on paper however I do feel for the Greeks and understand any grievance there.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'm not concerned about the politics, but I'm assuming that if we gave them back to Greece then they would restore them to the Parthenon. That means that they would be subject to weathering like the rest of the ruin.

Not so good for preservation.

Just to end this matter I'd send them back. Seeing them is hardly a life changing event.
Of course that then brings into question a lot of exhibits in various museums.

Greece have a 'state of the art' museum, waiting for their crown jewels, the Parthenon marbles, to be returned.

Elgin's theft was not popular here but he survived and flogged them to pay for his highly expensive divorce.

Starmer sensible no hindrance to an arrangement, common among museums, diplomatic.

Sunak makes Mr.Bean look competent.

An upper-class twit picking a needless fight, a bore and a moron.

When he turned the hammer over and used the flat part on a factory visit the other day I had to laugh.

Time to squeeze another one in before the GE?

So they are going from one museum to another?

Will the Egyptians also want all their stuff back?

Maybe Africans will want their stuffed animals back too.

Maybe we should send back everything of foreign origin, including humans.

They weren't stolen. They were bought by Elgin when they were about to be smashed up and used as builders rubble. But of course, you never miss an opportunity to attack Britain do you. Why do you live in a country that you hate so much?

There wouldn't be any Elgin marbles if it wasn't for him. They were literally lying around on the ground and being pinched by the locals.

That said I don't have a problem with them being returned to the Greeks providing they acknowledge that Elgin did them a favour by rescuing them.

Carry on laughing.

From the Guardian -
... in a fuller version of the clip, the jewellery crafter sitting alongside Sunak instructs him to use the side of the instrument. He replies: “Sideways?” and she says: “Yes.”

I know they were acquired legally. I just think it'd be a great goodwill gesture to return them to Greece.

Do the British public love them so much? Don't think so.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Cameron talking straight to Netanyahu a feat in itself, closing in on a Gibraltar deal just left after Brexit.

Sunak less popular than Truss.

Patel + Braverman + Sunak = record immigration from India.

You do the maths.
