The Crystal Palace Supporters Trust have posted their farewell message.
Although it is dated Dec 2022 it was actually posted yesterday and has current information on it.

Over the years the Trust worked tirelessly for Palace supporter's and it is very sad that it has finally come to an end.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has been involved with CPST over the years, for their hard work and endeavour to keep Palace fans voices heard through some of the most difficult times in our history.

I wholeheartedly echo these sentiments.

I have no wish to disparage fans who ran this but would good did they do?

Most clubs have an independent group but I suspect the owners pay little heed to them.*

Good luck to the new group but wasn't it Jordan who turned down the offer to invest in the club e.g. my money my train set.

I think that's what most owners feel they pay lip service to these groups .

* And in some cases e.g. Charlton these groups are toxic and actually drive away potential owners with their antics.

That’s lip service unless they want them to move seats to accommodate others and then they present them with Hobsons choice.

I've been talking to some Charlton friends about their Supporters groups. Some have not joined because they don't feel the people who run it speak for them, some have joined and still feel the people no longer represent their views.

The consensus was that the Charlton fans who run these groups probably start out with the best intentions but it soon becomes an ego trip:

- The sycophants "We had tea with the chairman yesterday he listens to us blah blah".

- Or worse the disrupters, who think it is okay to threaten the owners family and people who work for him in the name of the rest of the Charlton fans.

I hope the new Palace group doesn't go either of those way. They need to keep a healthy scepticism.
