Officially announced. I'm gutted Selhurst Park has not been considered as a venue, the reasons, whilst astoundingly obvious, feel unjust.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Fantastic. Will be a great event when it comes around. By then we'll have 54 teams playing so should be plenty of football. Surprised its not being co-hosted with Cyprus, Iceland and Portugal.

Pre-announcement, I read that the opening game is likely to be in Cardiff. An interesting definition of 'England and Ireland' as hosts therefore, although students of history will no doubt point out that Wales was (kind-of) historically regarded as part of England (i.e. England and Wales was one kingdom).

According to the United Nations, Europe consists of 50 countries. Add 3 for the fact that the UK competes as 4 different nations, then add 1 more for Israel, and BINGO! No qualification tournament!

Oh dear, Pedant Alert. The bid was for the 4 home nations plus the ROI. It was, as expected, successful.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

it is disappointing that Croke Park, Dublin will not be participating. As the Fourth largest Stadium in Europe, this is typical of the bul1shyte when you mix sport and politics. Instead it will be the Aviva, which is only 51,000 capacity. Belfast will be Casement Park. Which will be nice, when they build it. Edited by PalazioVecchio (11 Oct 2023 4.49pm)

Maguire our defensive rock. The manager is probably the biggest question. I think we'll all be surprised if it's still Gareth. More likely Howe or Potter by then.

If those two fellas are doing well, they wouldnt want the England job. i reckon Steve Bruce, Mick McCarthy, or Neil Warnock for the England job. You gotta have a Long CV before you manage a country. Minimum age for that job ? 45 or 50 ? 2028, i hope those feckers at Soho Square don't try to rob Croydon-Roy from us. Edited by PalazioVecchio (12 Oct 2023 3.01pm)
