Though yet again the Home of football is ignored with England having the booby prize of a euros that nobody else wants ,this time apparently with the rest of the British Isles Not a fan of these multi nation venue competitions, this latest trans continent idea is one from the box of frogs

Total balls up from FIFA as usual. For me, a big part of the World Cup is the host nation stamping their culture on the event. No consideration for players nor fans with all the travelling. How can this get through a committee with a a majority decision? Next there will be a 54 team tournament meaning even more minnow nations qualifying with teams finishing 3rd in their group progressing to the knock outs.

What a farce the World Cup has become. FIFA must be deranged to think they can organise a globetrotting sports competition when most folk around the world are pleading the case to save our planet. Surely their ludicrous plan will not be ratified.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Surely their ludicrous plan will not be ratified. I think if you ever needed fuel for your fire POG in claiming those at the helm in FIFA are as far removed from reality as possible, the latest proposals would be enough to last a lifetime. It's bonkers. Can you imagine having any control over such a prominent organisation and saying 'what we need at the top are people drowning in corruption allegations, so obvious they become farcical, a bloke who makes bizarre speeches telling everyone he feels gay and disabled etc. and then to propose a globe-trotting tournament, to play some games of football, with no semblance of a coherent narrative supporting this proposal (it's not possible to do so)?' I'm sticking with 'bonkers'.

I kinda understand spreading it across countries; countries that would not normally be able to host the competition in isolation so would never get the chance... but to spread it across continents - and ones that have no geographical proximity to one another is truly bonkers.
